Event Opportunities: This is the 27th year of the longest-running farm show in Texas! 3,000+ attendees, 200+ booths, and tons of great networking and opportunities. Cadets will have the opportunity to attend and help staff at the Texas Brigades booth!

Houston Fishing Show
Date: February 21 - 22, 2026
Event Opportunities: This will be the 51st Houston Fishing Show! Fishing's Future and Coastal Brigade are teaming up with other volunteers during the Kids Casting event. At the event, there will be two different opportunities for helping out at the show. Cadets can do both, these opportunities are listed below:
A.3 Manned poster and/or trifold display. — Restrictions: points awarded per day, minimum of one hour.
Coastal Brigade will have a booth at this event, and the Committee will be welcoming Cadets to man the booth with their posters.
A.5 Assist with a natural resource, wildlife, or conservation organization’s event. — Restrictions: Points awarded per day of assistance.
They will need instructors, gift table helpers, entrance and exit helpers, and more during the Kids Casting Event portion of this expo show.
Assistance with the Kids Casting Event requires sign-up through an external portal (see below).

West Texas Big Bobcat Hunt - Weigh-in
Event Opportunities: There will be a brigade table present where cadets can display their posters and network. Cadets will have the opportunity to speak with the hunters who attend the weigh-in, share their experiences and knowledge from camps, and hand out flyers.

Celebrate Otherwild
Event Opportunities: Join us for hands-on activities inspired by our new exhibition! Otherwild will feature 10 Enchanted Trees throughout the San Antonio Botanical Garden’s 39 acres and a soaring SkyNet installation, Flora Borealis, above the Lucile Halsell Conservatory. This immersive exhibition celebrates color, connection, and the joy of shared experiences. Families are invited to enjoy concessions, live music, and educational activities. Texas Brigades will have a booth at this event.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Coastal Fisheries Division Meeting
Event Opportunities: There will be a Coastal Brigade table at the TPWD Coastal Fisheries Division Meeting to spread the word about Texas Brigades to the TPWD staff to encourage more involvement throughout the division. This is an exciting opportunity for cadets to showcase their posters/trifolds to TPWD staff!
A.4 Unmanned poster and/or trifold display — Restrictions: poster or trifold must be displayed for a minimum of three (3) consecutive days at a single location, or for the duration of an event.
Cadets may drop off their posters/tri-folds on the first day, and then pick them back up on the last day.

Event Opportunities: The Texas Chapter AFS annual meeting is celebrating its 50th anniversary! Emily Miller is welcoming cadets to the opportunity of presenting or providing a poster display at the meeting this year. Event Opportunities: This youth hunt focuses on honoring active, retired, and fallen members of the military in remembrance of Jacob Krebs. Event Opportunities: Nature lovers of all ages are invited to Jones Park for a day of discovery, celebrating one of our most important natural resources - trees! Come learn about the importance of our forests and how you can help conserve such a vital, but endangered, ecosystem at our inaugural Forest Fest. Visitors can enjoy hikes, wildlife presentations, and educational exhibits. Native plants and concession sales will be available from Jesse Jones Park Volunteers. Great for families of all ages, school groups, and Scouts.

HBGFC Fun Fishing Day
Location: Pelican Rest Marina in Galveston, TX

Event Opportunities: The 13th Annual FUN FISHING DAY will be held at the Pelican Rest Marina on Saturday, October 11th, 2025. We are excited to host the children of the Ronald McDonald House AND the children of Shriners Children’s Hospital of Galveston again this year! The children and their families will spend the morning fishing with Club volunteers who will help them bait their hooks, reel in their fish and keep track of their winning catches. Families are treated to a delicious lunch and refreshments, followed by a fun awards presentation, prior to their departure. No one leaves empty handed. Our Volunteers, Donors, and Sponsors help support the event in multiple ways and ensure all families go home with a little extra gift and some fun pictures to remember their FUN FISHING DAY!

The Stampede is also an opportunity to network but is solely designed as a place for state agencies, manufacturers, and sponsoring NGO members to showcase their efforts and wares. North Dakota Waterfowl Brigade will have a table reserved at this event for our graduates to staff and spread the word about camp. We’re needing a Coordinating Cadet for this event (please see the note below) as well as a hands-on activity or two for the participants.

Texas Game Warden Experience with Texas Brigades
We are looking for 17-22 year old students (minimum completion of Junior year of high school) that have a strong interest in a conservation law enforcement career. This event is the perfect opportunity to hear and learn from Texas Game Wardens about their day-to-day lives and gain valuable, hands-on experience relating to a career as a Texas Game Warden.

North Dakota Youth Waterfowl Hunting Workshop

Friday, August 8 — 9:00am-4:00pm
Event Opportunities: Activities include duck identification and hunting regulations, decoy spreads, hunting gear, basic firearm safety, duck calling and retriever training. The first 20 participants (ages 9-16) to register will be able to participate in one of the shooting training sessions at Capital City Sporting Clays Range in the afternoon. The shooting training will include safe gun handling tips. A parent or guardian must accompany children at the shooting range.
A.5 Assist with a natural resource, wildlife, of conservation organization’s event — Points awarded per day of assistance. Examples of assisting include helping set up the event, assisting with instruction, or staffing a booth (with or without your poster or trifold).

Texas Brigades will have a booth space set up at this event for Brigade graduates to display their posters and talk to attendees about Texas Brigades.

This BOA activity can qualify for A.3 (manned trifold/poster display, up to 250 points) or A.4 (unmanned trifold/poster display, up to 100 points).
