Texas Brigades is proud to work with a group of professionals who have stretched the Brigades organization to include natural resource management and ranching. Ranch Brigade is 5-day program which teaches Land stewardship and Livestock production. Sustainable beef production from conception to consumer is essential to feeding the world. The Brigade model of leadership development, education, and empowerment will be just like other Brigade programs.

South Texas Ranch Brigade
June 25- 29, 2022
Killam Ranch
Freer, TX
Livestock production and land stewardship are areas we cannot take for granted. More and more students will graduate from high school without any exposure to production agriculture. The purpose of Ranch Brigade is to select 24 of the brightest and best high school students from across the state so that they can become ambassadors of land stewardship and livestock production in their respective communities. This select group of students will spend five days of intensive training to develop leadership skills, and learn the truth about livestock production; from low stress livestock handling demonstrations, understanding grassland management and nutrition, as well as an introduction to livestock marketing. Participants will then give presentations in their communities, and in turn, be rewarded through scholarships and future ranch experiences.
