Family Outdoor Expo @ Son Valley Ranch

Description: The Family Outdoor Expo brings families together for a fun-filled day. Enjoy the many outdoor activities. It’s fun for everyone.

On February 6, 2021 from 10am to 5pm at Son Valley Ranch come and visit the largest outdoor expo of its kind in Texas! Doors open at 10am and it is completely FREE!

This event is put on by a small group that wants to share their passion for the outdoors. There are many different activities for families to enjoy. Families can fish, shoot pellet guns, climb rock walls, ride ponies, browse educational booths, learn how to fly fish, shoot a bow and arrow and so much more! There will be a table for Texas Brigades and a spot for your trifold/poster!

Expected Audience: Up to 1,500+

Texas Brigades Involvement: Texas Brigades will have a booth set up at the event. This is a great opportunity to reach the public as the event is a popular place to visit and learn about many outdoor activities.

BOA Opportunities Available:

    • A.3: Manned trifold/poster display. Restrictions: points awarded per day, minimum of one hour. If you set up your trifold/poster while making a presentation, you will NOT receive credit for the manned display, only the educational presentation.

    Description: Plant Party #2 is the second in a quarterly virtual series covering all things flora. It is free to attend and a great way to expand your knowledge about Texas plants. The website linked above also has free recordings of the previous Plant Party. This is a free, informal, and FUN event.

    Expected Audience: 250+

    Texas Brigades Involvement: Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Associate Professor and Extension Range Specialist, Megan Clayton will moderate the virtual gathering and facilitate questions and comments. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension is a partner with Texas Brigades.

    • B.2: Attend a short course, seminar, or field day related to natural resources. Restrictions: activity form must include information about the event, who attended the event, what you learned from the event, etc.

    Austin County Ducks Unlimited Seafood Boil @ Austin County Fairgrounds Expo Center

    Description: Ducks Unlimited is a mission-focused conservation organization, funded by hunters from around the world. Come join us at the Austin County Chapter Seafood Boil and tell members about Texas Brigades and Waterfowl Brigade!

    Expected Audience: 200+

    Texas Brigades Involvement: Texas Brigades will have a table set up at this event. Texas Brigades Staff and volunteers will be on-site to direct cadets.
