Get Ready to Hunt (Bexar Co. Wildlife Series) @ Bexar County Extension Office (San Antonio, TX)

Description: This is Bexar County’s third annual Summer Wildlife Series, and this year’s theme is Texas Game Species. Dr. Maureen Frank will be presenting about hunting season in Texas; cadets will be welcome to set up trifolds and/or give a talk.     Trails and Treats Featuring Lake Worth Monster Bash @ Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge (Fort Worth, TX)

    Description: This is FWNCR’s annual fall event of trails and treats, combined with our five-year event of the Lake Worth Monster Bash. They are anticipating over 1,000 people to attend. It is an outdoor family event and will have food trucks available to purchase lunch but feel free to bring lunch and drinks to the booth.

    Expected Audience: 1,000+

    Texas Brigades Involvement: Texas Brigades has been offered a booth space at this event; cadets are invited to display their tri-folds and talk to attendees about Texas Brigades. Daniel Price, prior Texas Brigades Volunteer (NTBB & WTFL), will be on-site to direct cadets.       Seabourne Nature Fest @ Seabourne Creek Nature Park (Rosenburg, TX)

      Description: Enjoy free & fun experiences including face painting, crafts and a petting zoo for the children along with nature tours, wildlife, expert presentations, hayrides, an edible plant display, plants & seeds as well as musical entertainment. A variety of food trucks will be on site. Conducted by Coastal Prairie Chapter- Texas Master Naturalists. Sponsored by Texas Parks and Wildlife and Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service.

      Texas Brigades Involvement: Texas Brigades does not currently have a booth space at this event, but we are invited to have one if there is enough interest; if you are interested in coordinating this event for cadets, please let the Texas Brigades office know, then contact Sara Marshall at (832) 225-6936 or sara@coastalprairie.org to reserve a space for Texas Brigades. Please contact Sara directly if you are only interested in volunteering for the event.

        2019 Kendall County Wild Game Dinner @ Kendall County Fairgrounds (Boerne, TX)

        Description: At the Kendall County Wild Game Dinner, you can expect everything from Axis, Alligator and it’s probably bacon wrapped, sizzled, seared or sautéed! And, for those who prefer the conventional cuisine, we’ve got you covered. We have 20 cook teams returning each year and as we’ve always said, our cooks are the backbone of this event. They are the reason that we draw the huge crowds year after year, “This group can cook”! The fantastic food, amazing auction items, games, vendors, there is something for everyone at this exciting event. Check out the KCWGD magazine here!

            Kennedale Youth Outdoors Convention @ Kennedale Performing Arts Center (Kennedale, TX)

            Description: Kennedale Outdoor Education Booster Club is hosting this event. This incredible line-up of all-star speakers from the state of Texas will provide opportunities for youth to participate in outdoor activities, camps, and programs. Come gather information about the following opportunities and programs out there: Texas Youth Hunting Program; Major League Fishing; Texas High School Bass Association; Texas Toyota Sharelunker Program; Athens Freshwater Fishery Center; NASP Archery; TPWD’s Explore Bow-hunting and Bow-fishing; Texas Brigades Summer Camps; Texas Toyota Sharelunker Program; Dan Bennett- Lake Bois D’Arc and Ralph Hall Reservoir. Don’t miss this one of a kind opportunity in the DFW Metroplex!

            Texas Brigades volunteers, cadets, and parents are invited to attend this event. Cadets may set their tri-folds up in front of the stage upon arrival early in the morning. If they arrive during a presentation, they may set up in front of the stage during the break after the presenter is finished. They will have an opportunity to give a group presentation during one of the presentation time slots.

            Expected Audience: 300+

            Texas Brigades Involvement: Bass Brigade C0ordinator, Steven Bardin, will be on-site to organize cadets, parents, and volunteers at the Texas Brigades booth, as well as facilitate the group presentation.
