Summer Camps Selection Process

Admission to a Texas Brigades Summer Camp is COMPETITIVE. All applications submitted before 11:59pm on March 15th (on-time applications) are considered equally. On-time applications are pooled by camp preferences and evaluated by each camp’s committee for selection. Applications are “blind”, meaning no identifying information is provided to the committees prior to selection. Depending on each camp’s capacity, the top 20 – 30 cadet applicants are selected. If an applicant is not selected for their first-choice camp, their application will automatically be forwarded to their second and/or third choice camp for consideration. Selected applicants will be notified of their acceptance by April 15th.

Applications received after the March 15th deadline (late applications) are automatically placed on the General Waitlist and will be offered Cadet positions if they become available.


Upon selection, the applicant will be required to submit the following:

  1. Written Confirmation of Attendance (by May 1st)
  2. $100 Non-Refundable Deposit (by May 1st)
  3. Paperwork & Tuition Balance (by May 15th for June camps, by June 15th for July camps)

Missing any of the deadlines above will automatically move your application to a waitlist.

Summer Camps Waitlist Process

Your application will be placed on a waitlist if you submit your application after the March 15th deadline, are not selected for your Top 3 Camp preferences, cannot attend the camp you are selected for, and/or miss a deadline (i.e. deposit, paperwork, tuition).

In the application, you are asked to choose a waitlist preference from the following:

  • “1st Choice ONLY”: Your application will only be considered should a spot open up at your 1st choice camp, even if a spot becomes available at another camp. It is unlikely, but still possible, that spots will become available our more popular camps.
  • “My 3 Preferred Camps ONLY”: Your application will be added to the waitlists of all three of your preferred camps (as indicated in your application).
  • “First Available (ALL CAMPS)”: Your application will be added to our general waitlist, should a spot at ANY camp become available. Preference on the general waitlist will be given to those applications submitted by the deadline vs. late applications. This option gives you the greatest chance of attending a camp.

Summer Camps Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received less than 2 weeks before camp are not eligible for a tuition refund.
Cancellations received up to 2 weeks before camp are eligible for a tuition refund, less the $100 non-refundable deposit.
